Dear Members and Friends,
Today, we at 3DCC, have mixed emotions about the reaction to our presentation last night—especially the misstatements made by Commissioner Roark, the temporary district 2 commissioner . Nevertheless, we think it would be best for interested citizens of Henry County to view our presentation and the BOC rebuttals for themselves…and then draw their own conclusions. Rather than being sidetracked by the misrepresentations of Commissioner Roark, it is the purpose of 3DCC to remain focused on moving the Henry County Unified Code of Ethics (UCE) proposal forward.
There are two ways you can view last night’s BOC meeting:
You can access the Henry County website by typing in: http://www.co.henry.ga.us/
Then go to the tab marked Board of Commissioners (the 2nd tab);
Then scroll down to Agenda & Minutes and click there;
Then scroll down to Henry County Board of Commissioners (the 2nd grouping);
Choose Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting, 7/20/10 and click the Video hyperlink;
Once there, you can slide over to these minute marks where you will find our presentation and the BOC remarks as follows:
39:00 Bob Marshall intro
42:00 Mike Eddy presentation
50:15 BJ Mathis question
52:40 Roark remarks
57:30 Eddy rebuttal
58:44 End of our presentation
This is a little involved, but actually pretty easy to do. Here is a hyperlink shortcut, for those of you who prefer shortcuts: http://henryga.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=2&clip_id=317&meta_id=12483
For those citizens who would rather watch this meeting on cable channel 14 here are the times and dates for the airings:
Starting on Thursday, 7/22/10, the whole meeting will be aired at 9 pm 2 pm and 7 pm. Channel 14 will repeat this schedule every other day (so the next day will be Saturday) for the next two weeks (or until the next board meeting). Airing times are also available during the day on the Channel 14 guide.
We hope this helps to better explain our proposal. Remember the immortal words of Thomas Jefferson, “An informed citizenry is the bulwark of a democracy…”
